Florida Addiction and Recovery Center at a Glance
Florida Addiction and Recovery Center treats addiction to alcohol, opiates, heroin, prescription painkillers, sleeping pills, benzodiazepines, stimulants, crack cocaine and other illicit drugs. Because addiction often comes with mental health struggles, the center also offers dual diagnosis care for bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma.
Treatment can start with a detox program, then move into a PHP that runs as a day/night program with community housing. Clients attend therapy at the clinical offices during the day and return to separate residences for men and women in the evening. Staff provide near-daily transport between the residences and the clinic, as well as weekly trips to outside 12-Step meetings. An intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a less intensive next step.
Therapy is personalized and includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma therapy, EMDR, individual and group sessions, and a 12-Step program. Medication management and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) are available when appropriate, and nutrition support is part of the plan. Behavioral technicians and counselors are available around the clock.
FARC offers dedicated programs for veterans and first responders, as well as a family program that helps loved ones understand addiction and support long-term recovery. An alumni program and aftercare planning help clients stay connected and lower the risk of relapse after treatment ends.
Meals can be adjusted for allergies and dietary choices, including vegetarian and vegan diets. The residences offer a private, home-like setting in the Fort Lauderdale area, close to the beach.
The clinical office is located at 3601 W Commercial Blvd, Suite #35, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. The center accepts most PPO insurance plans, and carriers such as Aetna, Cigna, Humana, AmeriHealth and TRICARE are shown on its website. Coverage can vary, so benefits should be verified with admissions.
Florida Addiction and Recovery Center is accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), and its housing is recognized by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR).
