About AToN Center
AToN Center is a private, non-12-step luxury rehab in Encinitas, California, treating adults for alcohol and drug addiction alongside co-occurring depression, anxiety, and trauma. Care can begin with medically assisted detox and continues in a residential program built around frequent individual therapy, evidence-based methods, and holistic services.
With only five homes and a limit of six residents per house, the center keeps treatment personal and discreet. Before discharge, the team helps each resident map out the next step, whether that means outpatient care, sober living, family involvement, or staying connected through alumni support.

AToN Center at a Glance
AToN Center is a luxury residential treatment program in Encinitas, California, serving adults 18 and older who are dealing with alcohol use, drug addiction, or a combination of substance use and mental health concerns. Founded in 2009 by Jim and Patricia Brady, the center grew out of a family loss and has kept its focus on privacy, small group sizes, and care plans written for one person at a time rather than a fixed curriculum.
Residents live in one of five Spanish-style homes spread across a private property of roughly ten acres in coastal North County San Diego, close to Rancho Santa Fe. Each home houses no more than six people, and private suites are available. A typical week includes several one-on-one sessions with psychologists and licensed clinicians using approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems, along with holistic work like yoga, acupuncture, massage, breathwork, and sound healing. Because AToN uses a non-12-step model, residents decide which community support groups they want to attend.
Free time on campus can be spent at the saltwater pools, hot tubs, dry sauna, or the onsite gym with Peloton bikes. There is also a tennis court, sand volleyball court, putting green, fire pits, and landscaped gardens with paths linking the homes. Private chefs plan meals around individual dietary needs. AToN does not enforce a blackout period on phones or laptops, which can be helpful for professionals and parents who need to stay in limited contact during treatment.
AToN Center is in network with Anthem PPO plans and is recognized as an Anthem Blue Distinction Center for substance use treatment. It also accepts out-of-network PPO benefits from carriers including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, and MultiPlan, and offers a benefits check before admission. Third-party listings note that Medicare and Medi-Cal are not accepted.
The center is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and accredited by The Joint Commission. It is located at 3250 Country Rose Circle, Encinitas, CA 92024, and admits residents from across the country. If you are considering AToN Center, contact admissions to confirm current availability, costs, program length, and whether residential care is the right fit.
